Our story
The Professional Fire Fighters of Eastern Mo. Local 2665 are an affiliate of the International Association of Fire Fighters. Local 2665 represents over 2,500 Fire Fighters, Paramedics, Dispatchers and Retirees in an area that covers 7 counties across eastern Missouri.
Since 1978, Local 2665 held their Hall and offices in St. Louis County with their last location in Berkeley. In 2006, the Local voted to purchase property in St. Peters to serve as their new Union Hall and Banquet Center. The vote passed, and the Local moved from Berkeley Mo to 115 McMenamy Rd in St. Peters. The PFEM Hall and Banquet Center holds the Local 2665 offices, a main hall that can accommodate 275 people, a lower hall that can serve up to 80 people and Vinny’s Bar and Grill. Vinny’s is named after Vince Schraham, Emeritus Vice President of Local 2665.
Shortly after moving to St. Peters, the western side of the property was expanded to construct a sand volleyball complex and a tiki bar. Since 2007 Missouri Sand Volleyball has held outdoor leagues, and in 2020 a dome was built to allow for winter sand volleyball leagues.
In 2013, IAFF Local 2665s Community Outreach Organization began fundraising efforts to create a fully inclusive playground to the Union Hall. In 2017 plans were created and in 2020 work began on the first fully inclusive and accessible playground in the city of St. Peters. Dedication of Kennedy’s Playground is slated for Spring 2021.
In 2018 a lift was installed to accommodate the elderly and handicapped in having full access to the Hall and Banquet Center.
In 2019 work began on an expansion of the parking for the Hall & Banquet Center and the addition of the Fire Fighters Bocce Club and Tavern which opened in July of 2020. The Bocce Club holds nightly leagues year round with fully enclosed and heated courts.
